Songwriter and guitarist J. Oscar Bittinger was one of my first musical contacts in Grand Rapids.
He and his ex-wife, Lauren (who is also a musician) have been dear friends of ours ever since. Even so,
it took a few years before we had an opportunity to work together on several music projects.
One such opportunity was a special Winter/Christmas show that J. Oscar organized at a local restaurant.
The program involved a number of local artists, but J. Oscar led things off with several of his own winter-themed compositions.
Lauren contributed vocal harmonies as well as flute and accordion accompaniment.
We had such a good time that after the show, we made a quick recording of the tunes at my studio.
