In July, it was a special treat to see Pam graduate from Vermont College with her
masters degree in writing for children. Afterwards, we celebrated by taking a few days
at Lake Willoughby, where I had vacationed as a child with my family.

We stayed at the lovely WilloughVale Inn on the east shore in a room overlooking the lake |

The view of the lake from the front porch of the inn is very similar to the view from our room |

We went canoeing and kayaking on the lake a couple times during our visit |

We had a duck escort during part of our canoe trip |

We enjoyed a fascinating side-trip to the Rock of Ages granite quarry. |

We watched the workers cutting slabs of granite far below us. |

Another highlight of our trip was the hike up Mount Pisgah to Pulpit Rock. |

|
Pulpit Rock is a precipice jutting out over the lake high above the east shore. |

Eddie has happy memories of hiking up to Pulpit Rock with his sister Nancy over three decades ago. |
