Vermont 2005

In July, it was a special treat to see Pam graduate from Vermont College with her
masters degree in writing for children.  Afterwards, we celebrated by taking a few days
at Lake Willoughby, where I had vacationed as a child with my family.

We stayed at the lovely WilloughVale Inn on the east shore in a room overlooking the lake

The view of the lake from the front porch of the inn is very similar to the view from our room

We went canoeing and kayaking on the lake a couple times during our visit

We enjoyed a fascinating side-trip to the Rock of Ages granite quarry.

We watched the workers cutting slabs of granite far below us.

Another highlight of our trip was the hike up Mount Pisgah to Pulpit Rock.

Pulpit Rock is a precipice jutting out over the lake high above the east shore.
