Rick Devon, the leader of Fiction Switch / Merry Bomb (see separate page in the "Bands" section) also used to be one of the worship leaders at Bella Vista Church in
Rockford, Michigan. About once a month, I had the priviledge of sitting in with the worship band that he led.
In addition to Sunday services at the church, the band was also invited to play
at the Festival of the Arts in downtown Grand Rapids on June 6, 2004. We called ourselves The Gathering and
it was a wonderful time as the five of us played some of the more "aggressive" praise & worship tunes in the group's repertoire.
Rick handled the lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Rom Romani was on lead guitar and background vocals, Doren Snoek
played keyboards, Kevin Bouwkamp was on bass and background vocals, and of course myself on drums.

below. The sound quality isn't super (it was recorded with just one mic in front of the stage) but all things considered,
it didn't turn out too bad (kudos to the Festival sound crew for doing such a good job). My personal favorite is probably
"Sanctify" (the 2nd track).
